After completing an appraisal for clients who were looking for an idea as to where their home sat currently in the market, RE/MAX Property Shop's Mark Wecker passed a referral on to APF broker Caitlin Troman.

Mark had recommended Caitlin to his clients, who were subsequently interested in speaking about either refinancing or financing their next purchase.

Caitlin immediately spoke with the clients then met with them the following day, whereupon they explained that they really did not want to sell the home at this time if they didn't have to as their elderly father was currently living in the home with them and it was well set up for his needs. However, they felt they had no choice but to sell because they faced personal debt and a large tax bill.

The clients were extremely worried as they had been in their home for over 25 years.

They had already spoken to their own bank, which was unwilling to assist at all.

Caitlin advised the clients that she believed she would be able to help them to refinance their home and clear up some of their personal debt.

ATO debt can be difficult to consolidate at times but Caitlin was able to find a lender willing to refinance the home loan, pay out the ATO debt and pay out a personal credit card debt.

The client was reduced to tears when Caitlin phoned to advise them of the application outcome. What a relief it was! The loan settled successfully.

While the client was not a RE/MAX customer in this instance, they may well be down the track. Because APF, as referred by RE/MAX, was able to assist in regards to finance, Caitlin will refer her clients straight back to the Wecker team when they do plan to sell.
